Introducing the Fantasia Messenger — a handcrafted luxury leather bag that combines elegant style with everyday function.
Please note: this bag is part of our pre-loved collection, curated as a celebration of enduring style. Bags are supplied with a dust bag but no complementary gift box and are sold “as is.” If you’d like a mint-condition bag, please visit our main product page.
Each bag’s price is carefully calculated as the trade-in value plus a modest markup that covers the costs of expert cleaning and repairs. This approach ensures you’re receiving a genuine bargain without compromising on quality. Every bag comes with detailed, transparent condition information (below), so you can shop with confidence, knowing exactly what makes your new treasure unique. While mint-condition bags are shipped with hand-made dust bags and gift boxes, bags from our pre-loved collection are shipped in protective packaging material only.
This striking piece features two premium vegetable-tanned leathers. The body is made from Rocky Mountain Super Natural veg-tan leather, hand-dyed to create a richly mottled, artisanal finish. Accenting this is Badalassi Carlo Pueblo leather in olive, chosen for its rustic surface and the stunning patina it develops over time.
For added protection, the leather receives a specialized top coat. This not only seals the surface but also enhances water resistance and prevents color transfer. Inside, Luigi Carnevali micro suede offers a soft, refined lining that elevates both comfort and function.
With antique brass hardware and a fully handmade build, the Fantasia Messenger is perfect for women who appreciate style with substance. Whether carried daily or reserved for standout moments, it speaks of discernment and depth.
Excellent condition. Two small blemishes on lining, under the flap (see image in product gallery on our website. Details below).

NERINA LEATHERWORKS
Business Overview
Nerina Leatherworks creates exceptional handmade luxury leather bags where traditional European craftsmanship meets timeless design. As a sole artisan studio, we produce a strictly limited collection of bespoke pieces for women who value authenticity, quality, and enduring elegance over mass-produced alternatives.
The Craftsman’s Philosophy
Every Nerina Leatherworks bag represents a commitment to the highest standards of leatherworking artistry. Operating as a dedicated sole craftsman, I approach each commission with the understanding that true luxury lies not in volume, but in the meticulous attention given to every cut, stitch, and finish. My work honors centuries-old traditional methods while creating pieces designed for the contemporary woman who demands both beauty and functionality.
The limited production capacity—deliberately constrained by the time-intensive nature of authentic handcraftsmanship—ensures that each bag possesses an inherent exclusivity. This is not fast fashion; these are heirloom-quality pieces meant to become lifelong companions.
Materials & Construction
Quality begins with material selection. Nerina Leatherworks sources only premium leathers from the world’s finest tanneries, working with an exceptional range of materials that includes some of the most sought-after leathers available:
Premium Italian Leathers:
French & English Heritage Leathers:
North American Specialty Leathers:
Luxury Linings:
The collection includes both vegetable-tanned leathers that develop rich patinas over time and chrome-tanned leathers that maintain their original appearance—each chosen for specific aesthetic and functional properties. Every hide is personally inspected to ensure it meets exacting standards before being incorporated into a design.
Hardware & Finishing:
The Custom Experience
Nerina Leatherworks operates as a Private Members Atelier—an exclusive arrangement where membership is complimentary but by invitation. This model allows for an intimate relationship between craftsman and client, ensuring every piece receives the individualized attention it deserves.
The custom service transforms our core designs into truly personal expressions. Customization options include selecting different leather types and colors from our available materials, modifying hardware finishes, adding functional elements (such as detachable wrist straps to clutches), or adjusting interior configurations. Each customization is thoughtfully integrated into the existing design framework. The result is a meticulously crafted leather bag that provides lasting satisfaction and becomes a cherished possession for years to come.
Please note: customization applies to existing bag designs only; we do not create bags from scratch.
Design Philosophy
Each Nerina Leatherworks design integrates four essential elements:
The designs avoid ostentatious branding or conspicuous hardware. Instead, they rely on the inherent beauty of premium leather, precise construction, and refined proportions to make their statement—subtle luxury for the woman who knows quality when she sees it.
The Artisan Difference
In an era dominated by factory production and marketing hype, Nerina Leatherworks represents an alternative path: the slow, deliberate work of a dedicated craftsman creating pieces meant to last generations. Each bag carries the character that can only come from being shaped by human hands guided by experience, care, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence.
From the initial design considerations through pattern making, cutting, edge finishing, hand-stitching, and final inspection—every step occurs in a single studio, under the watchful eye of one artisan who takes personal responsibility for the finished piece.

The Promise
When you commission a Nerina Leatherworks bag, you’re not simply purchasing an accessory.
